3. Custom hosting

When you outgrow the others: More resources, a VPS, right up to dedicated servers. Whatever you need.

  • Dedicated servers go as high as 64 cores and 128GB of RAM, so the sky is the limit here. We need to have a proper meeting to assess your needs and come back with a proposal. Here are some pricing guidelines:
  • VPS (Virtual server): R2,500 – R5,000pm
  • Dedicated server: R6,000 – R9,000pm

Maintenance Packages

Build the package you need. Start with the set-up and add the ongoing services you need on a monthly basis.

(If we built your site and hosting it, then the initial set-up won’t be required because most of it will have already been done.)

1. Initial set-up

We need to do this before proceeding with maintenance upkeep of your site. If we built the site, this will not be needed.

2. Maintenance

Monthly upkeep of your website keeping it healthy. Do all the scary stuff and generally watch out for hacking /corruptions. If something breaks, we fix it at no extra charge.

  • Run all plugin/theme/core updates
  • Check backups are running
  • Visual inspection of site (test links, missing content, corruptions)
  • Run security & anti-virus scans (and implement recomendations)
  • Check users & comments
  • Track activity (changes, logs, emails, etc.)
  • Perform any repairs that are required
  • Note: An initial setup is required. Depending on the current state of the site, it will cost R1450. See below for details.
  • For standard WordPress websites, not eCommerce websites.

3. Changes and updates

Buy a few bundled hours to make changes you request to avoid our full price adhock rates.

  • R350 per hour of changes (Usually R750 per hour)
  • Add as many as you think you need at checkout
  • These hours do not carry over to the next month. (They are at half price, so use it or lose it)
  • Changes are considered as any request made by you (the client), not changes volunteered by us (DesignDesk), eg: Changes, Modifications, Design, Consulting, Advice, Research, Reports, Proposals, Documentation, Training – ie: any web-related service DesignDesk offers.

WordPress maintenance

We manage the health of your site. Running updates to the WordPress core, plugins and themes can be scary and the risk of something going wrong is very real. Leave it to us. Don’t stress.

And if the site does actually get compromised/broken, we fix it at no extra charge.

Realtime backups

If you’re running an eCommerce store using WooCommerce, then a daily backup isn’t sufficient. Imagine the grief of losing a day’s worth of orders? You’ve received payment, but don’t know what to send and to who. We backup your site after every sale so you’re always up to date.

Offsite Security

Remote security scanning and repairs. You wouldn’t use a laptop in a coffee shop without protection, so why not your website which is permanently presented to the public (and malware)? Off-site scanning is not affected by any corrupted files in your site, so it’s far superior.
